Eau Claire (WI) – Converge Radio is happy to announce the addition of “Interconnected with Adrian Klenz” to our lineup of weekly specialty shows. “Interconnected” will air Monday nights at 6pm starting on June 15th.
Klenz is a UWEC graduate and an extensive fixture in the Eau Claire arts scene, contributing to Volume One, performing in local theater, and singing in local band for close to two decades. He is also the Executive Director of The Reach Foundation here in Eau Claire.
“Being an alumni of UWEC, a former student body president at UWEC, and a small business owner here in Eau Claire, I am excited to join a team that has done so much to take part in the growth and revitalization of our community. I hope I can play a small part in continuing that forward movement,” stated Klenz on joining the Converge Radio team.
“In a world where things seem so divided right now, I want to show that our community and our music is a way that we can all be interconnected. Hence the name!,” Klenz said, about his show. “I will tell stories from my time in the Eau Claire music and arts scene, I will play music that has moved me and shaped my own musical creation, and I will hopefully turn the listening public on to new artists and new styles of artistic creation.”
Tune in to Converge Radio 99.9FM on Mondays at 6pm, starting June 15th, to hear “Interconnected with Adrian Klenz”. For future announcements, follow Converge Radio on Facebook and Instagram.

Converge Radio is proud to announce a new radio program focused on Western Wisconsin high school students – Rock And Roll Homeroom.
The show will air on Saturdays from 10am to noon and will have a unique lineup for hosting.
Every Tuesday at 5pm, area high school students will be invited to the Converge Radio studio to work with producers to record an episode, learn the basics of radio production, and develop promos for their own episode which will then air on Saturday.
Converge Radio station manager Scott Morfitt is excited for the new opportunity for young people: “My own passion for radio was built at a young age; it’s unbelievably exciting to get to create this space for area high school students to learn more about the craft we all love so very much.”
Converge is currently seeking sponsors willing to partner with the station to help make the program sustainable, as these recording and training sessions will be free of charge to students wishing to participate.
To get involved with Rock and Roll Homeroom at Converge, students will simply need to apply. Parents will then be sent a release form.
Following the application process, a recording session with the student will be scheduled for a Tuesday at 5pm. Students who live throughout Converge Radio’s seven- county broadcast region are encouraged to sign up.
The show will run throughout summer, so students wishing to host over their break are in luck. Morfitt says, “At Converge Radio, our team works to produce high quality radio 52 weeks a year, Rock and Roll Homeroom will be no different. We are also open to student hosts who are visiting the region over the summer.”

The Urge – My TV
The punk community loves to wax poetic about the “old school” and how much better things were then. Sometimes this means they were wistful for their favorite punk bands from high school (because it’s factually accurate that Rancid is the punk GOAT), while others are looking further back to a time when things were even more visceral, unique, and in their infancy.
For many this is the 80’s. The time when CBGB’s had a cavalcade of amazing talent come through their doors, sweaty and ready to rock. This is a time when things were raw right down to the ground wire on the mic cable. It was the time when punk was young.
When Eau Claire Band, The Urge plays their reunion show, Saturday May 11th at The Stones Throw, fans will not only get to walk down memory lane with originals, they will also be treated to covers of punk icons such as The Ramones, Iggy Pop, Blondie, Kinks, Suicide Commandos, and many more.
Throughout the 80’s The Urge played throughout Wisconsin including a gig opening for The Ramones in Wausau (pictured).
Fans in attendance are definitely have a good time no matter what school they love as the old one.
This Saturday, May 11th concert is also a benefit for Feed My People Food Bank. More info here

From the Desk of Gentle Guest: It’s been 8 long years since The Gentle Guest released Cast Off Your Human Form. Those years were spent largely pursuing other endeavors. Some shows were played, but performances were few and far between. There were rumors of an album in the works, yet nothing materialized.
The songs that became Unholy Mess were allowed to gestate and ferment for nearly a decade. The album was begun, then scrapped entirely, then begun again before being nearly forgotten by the band itself. Somehow, the album was finished after spending several years lost in limbo.
