In moments of turmoil those of us who are perhaps not as artistically inclined often look to those who are…they can give voice to what we’re thinking and feeling in a way we never could. It’s a gift, and it’s some small solace and comfort in the midst of uneasy times.
This new song from Caitlin McGarvey is one such track. Caitlin had this to say about “Fire”, her new single that is out today:
“My experience writing, recording and releasing ‘Fire’ has been a whirlwind to say the least. It came out all at once Wednesday morning and it’s crazy to me that with the help of some amazing people (local music engineer Justin Anderson, fellow musician Phil Faucett and Blugold Radio) I’m able to release it to you barely 48 hours later. I’m so grateful to be able to use this privilege to send out an important message at this important time in our country. A message holding everyone accountable for speaking out against beliefs and actions that are undeniably wrong. It’s up to all of us to make real change and to leave this world better than we found it. To admit we’ve been wrong and to learn from our mistakes. I hope this song can be a small catalyst for this type of change.”
