Wisconsin Alt-Hip-Hop artist TeawhYB doesn’t curse on songs, doesn’t glorify drug use or violence, is antimisogynistic, won’t overly sexualize, and uses gender-fluid lyrics. Turned off? Wait until you listen to the intimate and palatable mainstream voice of the gay-identifying artist taking the Midwest music scene by storm.
With a left-field approach and filtering out everything that seems to make rappers famous, TeawhYB is not for the close-minded and is a brand for the next generation of hip-hop culture.
“My approach to music is not a knock-on the artistry of others,” says TeawhYB, “this is a personal choice, limiting in a sense, but spiritually what I feel is right. I’m in the future. You’re not going to crucify me 10 years from now for saying something that doesn’t stand the test of time.”
