Vince Staples is a 23-year-old rapper who has already catapulted himself in a short time onto a lot of critic’s “best of” lists with his recent solo releases.
Staples initially caused a stir in 2014 when he dropped his debut EP entitled Hell Can Wait, and he followed that up in 2015 with a double-album called Summertime ’06 that Rolling Stone described as “one of the most critically acclaimed LPs of 2015”.
Can he maintain his position as a buzzed about critical darling and potential future rap superstar? Shouldn’t take too long to have an answer: Staples announced just last month that a new six-song EP from him will be out later this year.
