“Jason Dea West is an American troubadour who sings what he lives and lives what he sings. Wests’ poignant lyrics are brilliantly blended with vintage country, folk and blues, and timely sensibilities. From epic guitar and harmonica instrumentals to humorous song as story, Jason never strays very far from the anarchic punk-folk roots of his beloved former band Barefoot Surrender and his celebrated current band Intuitive Compass.”
Jason Dea West is an artist of national acclaim, and whose live performance videos for outlets like GemsOnVHS regularly amass hundreds of thousands of listens and views. Jason is currently based out of Arizona but originally hails from Menomonie, and he is also slated to play Blue Ox Music Festival this June. Ahead of appearing at Blue Ox this summer, though, Jason is coming back to the area for a celebratory run of three consecutive nights of music all across the Chippewa Valley:
- Thursday, March 30 at The Spirit Room in Mabel Tainter
- Friday, March 31 at The Plus in Eau Claire
- Saturday, April 1 at The Tomahawk Room in Chippewa Falls
What will be a victory lap for area family, friends, and longtime fans will also be a great chance for local music enthusiasts not already familiar with Jason’s work to change just that—and to help make this possible all events are completely FREE and the first two are also ALL AGES!
…this weekend big-time backers and curious concert-goers alike are invited to catch a show (or several!) and together see the Chippewa Valley’s hometown pride and community support for this deserving artist and Valley native continue to expand.
All three shows are presented by Farewell Transmission, Converge Radio’s own weekly alt-country & indie folk show. The Eau Claire and Chippewa Falls events will also be featuring opening sets from Matthew James Brown & Kenz.
