Converge Radio Exclusive: Dave Simonett from Trampled By Turtles Hinterland Interview
Converge Radio had the privilege of attending Hinterland Music Festival in Saint Charles, Iowa for the first time this August. While at Hinterland our own Jordan Duroe—host of Converge’s weekly alt-country & Americana show—had the opportunity to sit down with Dave Simonett of Trampled By Turtles and talk about Trampled’s forthcoming new album “Alpenglow” (due out October 28) that was produced by none other than Jeff Tweedy.
Also discussed: how TbT got to know Tweedy and Wilco in the first place, the band’s abiding love for Duluth and the upper Midwest in general, as well as Trampled’s many connections to and memories of Eau Claire specifically (highlights include running over one of their instruments at House of Rock, playing Stone’s Throw, and staying at the infamous Green Tree Inn). Additionally Dave also talks about the band’s sustainable merch via EC’s Ambient Inks as well as touring with and producing for Them Coulee Boys!
Thanks to Hinterland Music Festival for having us out, and to Dave and the Trampled By Turtles team for giving us the time.
