Once a month, Converge Radio spotlights a local artist from the Midwest, highlighting their music with a special interview and songs. On May 6th and again on May 8th, Converge Radio is proud to air our Spotlight Series with Twin Cities band Bad Posture Club.
Bad Posture Club is a folk duo made up of Maren Day and Morgan Kavanagh. Their songwriting explores themes of home-places, landscapes, memory, family, and the strange relationship between human softness and the unyielding societal structures we both participate in, and push against.
When reinterpreting traditional folk songs, they carve out space and agency for queer female voices. Drawing the listener in with intricate vocal harmony, Bad Posture Club creates intimacy and warmth, inviting togetherness in song.
Their second album, A Place Between, was released June 11th 2021.
Converge Radio is also proud to announce that Bad Posture Club will be a part of Tunes From The Womb Live on Saturday, May 14th, hosted by Eau Claire singer/songwriter Jerrika Mighelle – a celebratory space for any and all musicians who identify with the feminine. Other featured performers will include Laura Hugo, The Nunnery, and Ashley Wiswell.
