LISTEN:
Just last month locals Dames released their first new music in a few years with the debut of “Wrangler” (listen here) and now the band (made up of Dan Boetcher, James Ignacio, Evan Middlesworth, Jeremy Holt, and Adam Harder Nussbaum) is ready to share their second single: “Riding The Rails”.
Dames’ Dan Boetcher on the new track:
“The song was written by band member/Bassist
Jeremy Holt way back in 1998. After Dames started writing/performing more songs on the country side of life Jeremy suggested listening to ‘Riding the Rails’ and it was instant harmony (and harmonies). It was such a well-crafted song that everyone just plugged in and it was pretty effortless from there. Dames pumped out two songs in one recording session with pedal steel player Bronson Borgerson in May. Adding long time friend of the band Phil Cook was the perfect finishing touch on a song we are super excited about. Phil was kind enough to take time out of his schedule while here for Eaux Claires to sprinkle a little magic all over this song. He is playing banjo, slide guitar, harmonica, and piano which puts an emphatic stamp on Dames’ latest effort.”
