We are thrilled to debut “Rush” an amazing new track from EC band LASKA. They are a unique six piece which blends scorching riffs with beautiful harmonies.
Hannah Morton had this to say about the new track:
“One of the first times we were practicing this song with the full band, I was overcome by a heightened state of emotion I’d never felt before. It was a raw and beautiful set of moments that felt to me as if the room was on fire, my limbs were starting to tingle- it all felt incredibly serene. I was strikingly aware and completely content. Rush began as a verse and a chorus that Bex wrote on her banjo and has evolved into a collaboration of sounds with an aim to capture this sense of authentic anticipation. Whether it’s the words in the second verse (“take out the sun, flames are on the ceiling”) inspired by a specific moment, or synth overdubs triggered by a general feeling, each of us brought in a touch of emotion to build Rush.
For some people, the Rush might look like running in a field and throwing your arms in the air, kicking and yelling and dancing. For others, it’s the adrenaline from performing. But whether it is the anticipation of new love, the scent of a fresh breeze off of the ocean, the awestruck moment looking out over a mountain peak, the glowing eyes looking up at you from all over the room, or the moment of silence before applause, we all feel the rush. Sometimes the rush is about taking all of the pain, anger, and frustrations of life, trapping them in the palm of your hand, and then simply letting them scatter into the air. Sometimes it’s about letting all hell break loose and allowing yourself to find new experiences. “Rush” is not about any one thing in particular, but a combination of contradicting feelings, happy tears, and overall excitement. It is a search for what will ultimately set us free.”
Thank you so much for this one LASKA! 🙂
